indiana state fair

Yesterday we braved the day outside and decided to go to the state fair. It was cold....63 degrees in August...and looked like it could down pour any second. We spent almost 4hours there and could have spent even longer but had a couple of tired little girls. So, I had heard on our local news channel that an average family will spend $63 at the fair this year. I thought that was crazy but after 2 rib eye sandwiches, a plate of king tators, one corn dog, one cheeseburger, two ice creams, cheese nuggets (first time experience - hands down all time favorite fair food), one sweet tea, one diet coke, one bottle water, one lemon shake up and two carousel rides later...i get it.

Posing outside the butterfly garden.

The playgrounds and toy tractors...always a hit!

Dipping Dots...call me crazy but I've never heard of this - a first for me. Somehow the girls knew exactly what this was all about.

It was the second to last day of the fair so there weren't too many animals left but we were able to see dairy cows with their newborns, baby pigs, llamas and some gigantic horses.

And the girls whole reason for wanting to even go to the fair....the rides!
